Mastin Espanoles de Moreno (Spanish Mastiffs)

The Spanish Mastiff is sometimes referred to as the Mastin de la Mancha, Mastin Espanol, Mastin de Extremadura or Mastin de Leon and it is native to the Estremadura region of Spain and it is a member of the Molosser family. Its origins have been thought to date back to 2000 years B.C. It is likely that these dogs were introduced to the Iberian Peninsula by Phoenecian traders bringing them from Syria or India. This large and powerful breed has been used as a livestock guardian. They are loyal and affectionate to their owners and protective of people and property when it is required.

My name is Stephen Moreno and my wife is Edna Moreno. We currently reside in Colorado and have been aficionados of this breed for quite a long time. I myself am from Spain. I was born in Valladolid Spain and was raised from the early stages of my life with this "Wonderful", "Majestic" breed. I am 41 years old and have been serving our country for over 20 years as a member of our armed services. My wife recently retired from her service in the armed services after 26 years of service. The year after my wife retired we decided to go visit my family in Spain and look for our first puppy together. This is when Leon (Romulo de Campollano) came into our lives. After we left Virginia where I was working in a Hospital and returned to Colorado we decided to go back to Spain and bring Gitana (Bandera de Campollano) into our family. This year we found another one of this great breed had fallen into the abandonment trap and we rescued her from upstate New York, this is when Siesta (Siesta de Tornado) came into our family.

My desire for this breed is to be loved and cared for as part of a family. I wanted to bring a little bit of Spain and just as the country is bigger than life when you immerse yourself in it so is this breed. This breed is a sought after breed by many who do not understand the commitment this breed has for its family and circle they protect, they will give their lives to protect you and their herd.

You must consider your decision extremely carefully when choosing to bring this "Little" guys into your home.

Enjoy the Pictures and our family.

  4. The first is actually leaving this week. She is going to Alaska and will be growing up working as they were meant to be along side another great little puppy from the Fall Creek Farm Spanish Mastiffs. We are so happy she will have someone to grow up along side and with such a great family.

Thank you we have been blessed with some wonderfull adults that have provided us with a great litter for our first litter. It is really hard to say bye to these puppies but with our up coming move in our military life we cannot even think about keeping them at this point.
